Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Awards Chatter: Alexander Skarsgård episode is pretty interesting. I’m more familiar with his father’s movies than I am his, but I have seen a couple. Alex talks about his dad, his first roles, joining the marines, Generation Kill, True Blood and Big Little Lies. Worth checking out.

Blast Points: Episode 76 starts with a little The Last Jedi news, Pablo’s comments on Phasma, Jedi books, the vice admiral and DJ. Plus they cover LEGO reveals, Snoke on an elevator, BB-AD, and the ILM reunion. For the main discussion, they do something really fun. They dive into the old Phantom Menace CommTech chips that Hasbro made. They play every single one. To keep things fun, they try to guess which figure each CommTech chip came with. Great episode.

Children of the Force: Episode 72 features Al, Liam and Nick as they talk about various stuff, Nick’s theories on DJ and the vice admiral in The Last Jedi, they discuss the Canto Bight people, Krennic’s last thoughts, a Yoda impression, then they talk Force Arena. They go deep into Force Arena, so if you haven’t played it, you might get lost in the discussion. Good episode overall.

Coffee With Kenobi: Episode 70 features guests Craig Dickinson and Mike Audette as they talk about what they did for Star Wars day, Star Wars on Betamax, and first time seeing Star Wars in the theater. Dan talks with Bill Motz and Bob Ruth, the executive producers for the Freemakers. They talk about how the show was created, working with Leland Chee, coming up with the characters and the situations. Afterwards they talk Star Wars baseball nights, Force For Change, Star Wars pinball, gatekeeping, interacting with fans, and listener emails. Good episode.

Fly Casual: Episode 139 starts out with some hilarity as they go into bad Cajun impersonations. Then they talk about the Vanity Fair coverage picture-by-picture which gets into some fun observations and discussions. They wrap up with toy news. Good episode.

Full of Sith: Episode CCXIX is hosted by Mike, Bryan and Holly and it’s a listener question show so there’s a nice variety of topics. They talk about movies, Hitchcock and The Last Jedi, Battlefront, the storygroup, canon novels, Gray Jedi and more. Fun episode.

Geek Out Loud: Episode 211 features Steve and Erich as they do a commentary for A New Hope with listener call-ins. They talk about seeing it for the first time, the music, and there’s guests like Shazbazzar and Teresa. Afterwards they get into some general movies discussion. Good episode.

Rock Out Led: Volume 4 features Steve and Jimmy Mac as they kick things off with a Chicago tangent, the Thor trailer, Desert Trip, then they discuss Led Zeppelin II Side B track by track. There’s trivia and thoughts on each song, they talk about Lord of the Rings connections, go on a Circle tangent, Jimmy plays guitar, Steve sings, and there’s a bonus bootleg. Great episode.

Skyhoppers Podcast: Episode XLII has a lot of random Star Wars discussions to kick things off, then they get into games as they talk about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. They go through their favorite characters, they touch on the Revan book and they also talk about Gray Jedi. Fun episode.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 171 starts out with some podcasting in the car as they talk about the fan film 5.25.77 and their thoughts on it. Then they’re back in the studio as they talk about the Star Wars Nothing But Star Wars Mix Tape, their Scum and Villainy Pop-Up Cantina experience, and they have a great conversation with Dee Tails who talks about being in The Force Awakens and Rogue One. He shares stories, talks about meeting various people, what the masks were like, being the prototype for K-2SO and other work and films he’s done. Afterwards they take deep dive into one of the Vanity Fair pics of Carrie Fisher. Great episode and great interview.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 1060 has more Vanity Fair coverage touching on the 5 things that won’t be in The Last Jedi.

Star Wars 7×7: Episode 1063 focuses on the Vanity Fair Carrie Fisher cover story.

Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Episode 30 covers the Canto Bight aliens and other The Last Jedi news. Then Jay Krebs joins them for a discussion of Darth Bane: Path of Destruction. It’s a pretty thorough discussion of the book, the key plot points, and the characters. Afterwards is some listener feedback on the book. Good episode.

TSW Comics: Episode 2 features Marc and Rob talking about Screaming Citadel, comic news, the Phasma min-series, Aphra action figure, Mace Windu mini-series, Cassian & K-2SO one shot, then for their main discussion, they talk about Darth Maul #2 and #3. Good episode.

TSW Kessel Run: Episode 6.1.17 covers the fears of The Last Jedi being too derivative as Marc explores the fan response.

TSW Kessel Run: Episode 6.2.17 includes thoughts on the Talk Star Wars show, new Han Solo shooting location, Warwick Davis there, and speculation on the film and the possibility of Tatooine.

TSW Kessel Run: Episode 6.3.17 is some behind the scenes stuff for working on the show.

TSW Kessel Run: Episode 6.4.17 touches on Thandie Newton’s comments on the Han Solo movie, Mark Hamill on rock shot, business cards and the events in London.
