Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Blast Points: Episode 79 kicks off with some rather intriguing and timely audio clips on Lord and Miller. They talk about the Han Solo news and breakdown the evolution of the project, going through the stages, and playing some audio clips as they go. They also touch on Ron Howard taking over and their thoughts on the whole thing. But that’s not it for this episode as they then transition to Genndy Tartakovsky, how he was let go when future projects were talked about, and they dive into his version of the Clone Wars and some of the cool moments from the show. They wrap things up with an interview with Star Wars author Jared Krosoczka who took over the Jedi Academy series. Great episode.

Brews and Blasters: Episode 124 jokes around with sponsorships, drinking Coronas, vikings, copper pots, and then they get to the news. They discuss the Han Solo directors getting fired, diving into listener emails, pizza, and some need’em got’em. Great episode with lots of fun packed in.

Comic Book Noob: Venom discusses the part time villain, part time ally of Spider-Man. They talk about the symbiote, its origin, how it works, its hosts, how Venom has wound up helping Spider-Man from time to time, and how the Tom Hardy Venom movie might tie into all of this. Good episode.

Comic Book Noob: Vulture continuing the Spider-Man theme, in this episode they discuss another Spider-Man villain, Vulture, who is played by Michael Keaton in the upcoming film. They talk about the character’s comic book origins, the different versions of the character, his primary characteristics and what makes him such a great villain. Good episode.

DorkLair: Episode #1 kicks off yet another new podcast on the RetroZap network. This one is hosted by Bill and Bryan and focuses on Star Wars S.H Figuarts figures. In this episode they talk about how they got into collecting the Figuarts line, they touch on Revoltec, some of the tricks to getting the figures, and then they do a really thorough review on the Luke Skywalker A New Hope figure. If you’re interested in the line, this might be a good way to find out if it’s worth jumping in on, and for collectors who are already hooked, this is definitely the only podcast I know of dedicated to the Star Wars S.H. Figuarts line. Looking forward to future episodes and certainly any tips or tricks for the figures.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Priority Transmission #5 features a fun conversation between Teresa and the creators of The Freemaker Adventures, Bill Motz and Bob Roth. They talk about the casting process, working on the show, working with Carrie Beck, the inclusion of Chopper and Hera, and the shorts. Fun episode.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode 46 covers what they’ve been up to, they touch on the hottest Star Wars characters, Tricia’s book tour, kid names, sex in the Star Wars young adult books, 90’s music, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Star Trek, and they discuss The Freemaker Adventures shorts. Lots of fun topics and a great episode.

Fangirls Going Rogue: Episode 47 covers Cars 3, Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman clothes, Forces of Destiny, and they have an interview with Carrie Beck which dives into her influences and some fun discussion. Good episode.

Fauxthentic History: The Battle of Christophsis starts with a brief overview of the Clone Wars, then they get into the actual battle of Christophsis. From the blockade and the ground battle, to the key players and moments, they cover everything in a condensed and informative fashion. Good episode.

Full of Sith: Episode CCXXII discusses the Han Solo news. Having listened to a bunch of podcasts cover this topic, I really liked Full of Sith’s analysis of the events and their take on the news as it helped put things in perspective for me. They also talk about Ron Howard taking over, and there’s some general Han Solo discussion at the end. Good episode.

Galactic Fashion: Episode 24 starts with some laughter, then they get into fashion news, new items, and some interviews. They talk with Hannah Kent and Jesse Thaxton about the Wonder Woman fashion collection from Her Universe and Hot Topic and what it was like designing those items. Then they talk with Camille Falciola about the Wonder Woman fashion collection and the items she designed. They wrap up with the history of plaid and tie-off another great episode.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 139 features Tim talking about Ron Howard taking over the Han Solo movie.

Less Than 12 Parsecs: Episode 140 highlights what can be found past the 10th page when doing a Google search for Star Wars.

Then they have some interviews from Comic City Comic Con with Steve Blum (Zeb) and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Governor Pryce) as they talk about Star Wars Rebels. Then at Star Wars Fan Fun Days they talk with Lord Vader himself, David Prowse, as well as Paul Weston, Paul Blake and Chris Bunn. Good episode with lots of great interviews.

Reifenberg joins them as they talk about the Scum and Villainy Cantina, his experience on The Rosie O’Donnell Show back in the day, then they come back around to the Han Solo news and Ron Howard. Later on, Kyle Newman joins them as he chimes in on Lord and Miller, Ron Howard and everything that went down. Good episode. J.C. had some nice insight on the Scum and Villainy cantina, plus I liked his comments on the Han Solo news.

Skytalkers: Visions of Star Wars starts off with an interview with the creators of A Star Wars Comic, Jim Mello and Alex Ray. They get into their creative process and some of the stories behind their issues. Really nice interview. In part two, the hosts discuss Padme and the deletion of the knife scene from Revenge of the Sith. In part three, they cover the Han Solo directors news. Good episode. For anyone who is a fan of A Star Wars Comic, you’ll definitely want to check out the interview.

Talk Star Wars: Episode 75 tackles what question would you ask George Lucas, thoughts on Kylo Ren, should Maze have caught Bazine, Dagobah, Luke in Return of the Jedi against Jabba, Carrie Fisher autopsy report, Episode IX news, news on new The Last Jedi trailer, and the news on the Lord and Miller shakeup and their thoughts.
