Bombad Radio: Episode 87 includes an interview with Simon Wilkie who talks about cosplaying as C-3PO. Simon was a pretty interesting guest making it a fun episode to listen to. He had some neat stories about making the costume and some of the celebrity encounters he’s had.
Episode 88 has a nice interview with Nick Joseph, the medal bearer from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Nick talks about being onset and interacting with the other actors, as well as his work on the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, and Doctor Who. Aside from films, Nick talked about his other passions: Formula 3 racing and marathons. All in all, a cool episode to check out.
Episode 89 features an interview with Steven Greenwood, one of the co-founders of Wookieepedia. Steven talks about how Wookieepedia got started and the difficulties involved. Kind of a cool interview as I’ve never really thought too much about where Wookieepedia came from. This episode also includes a full rundown of every Star Wars Episode VII rumor so far. If you’re behind on the rumors, this would be a good way to catch up.
Full of Sith: Episode XXXVII features hosts Mike, Bryan and Consetta with special guests John Jackson Miller, the author of Kenobi, and James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It doesn’t take long for the humor to kick in. This is a must listen to episode. They cover the book, the audiobook, James does voices (like Dr. Phil meets Obi-Wan) and a lot more.
RebelForce Radio: Episode 9.06.13 includes the Parsec Awards at Dragoncon, guests Riley and Bethany from Star Wars Report giving a report of Dragoncon. They also cover the Cumberbatch rumors and other news items. They follow up on the sound of the Krayt dragon and they finish things off with some sound bytes of Billy Dee Williams from Dragoncon. Another good episode as always.
Sabacc Table: Episode #5 was a pretty good episode that featured an interview with Steve Horvath, Senior Vice President of Communications and Digital Business for Fantasy Flight Games. Steve talks all about the card game, the roleplaying game, the X-Wing miniatures game, Gencon and a whole lot more. If you have any interest in the games, it’s a great interview to listen in to as Steve talks about the creation process and everything that has gone into making the games the best they can.
Star Wars Report: Episode 103 included the audio from the Episode VII panel at Dragoncon. The panel included Bryan Young, Bobbie Roberts, Riley and Bethany along with some others. Since there really wasn’t that much hard info on the film, most of the discussion was speculative and included some Q&A with the audience. Kind of interesting as it was like listening to Full of Sith’s rumor control segment but with the Star Wars Report co-hosting.
Tosche Station Radio: Episode 67 has a nice interview with author John Jackson Miller covering a lot of topics. From how he got started as a writer and with comics, to his work on Kenobi and his motivations for the characters. Fair warning though, this episode does contain serious spoilers for the book, so you’ll want to read Kenobi before you listen in.
Star Wars Expanded Universe Panel is a cool episode featuring the audio from the Dragoncon panel that included Star Wars authors Aaron Allston, Kevin J. Anderson, Michael A. Stackpole and Timothy Zahn. The audio starts out a little rough but gets better a couple minutes in. The authors covered some fun topics and revealed some nice insight into their works and collaborations.
Conspiring For Fun and Profit is an episode featuring the audio for yet another Dragoncon panel filled with Star Wars authors, in this case Aaron Allston, Michael A. Stackpole and Timothy Zahn. While these three authors have done lots of panels, this is probably one of the best ones I have heard them do. They cover territory they covered before, but they also include some new info and end with a Q&A. I really enjoyed their discussion about doing a three part story. While it wasn’t really clear, it sounded like Timothy Zahn, Aaron Allston and Michael A. Stackpole had pitched a three part Star Wars collaboration to Del Rey post-Scoundrels, however due to the EU hold right now, it hasn’t gotten anywhere. When Tim mentioned it in the panel, they quickly began rolling with the idea of doing a non-Star Wars collaboration with a superheroes theme. Like I said, it was fun to listen to.
