Star Wars Insider 147 has already hit subscriber’s mailboxes. Here’s a look inside this month’s issue.
- Star Wars Rebels ”Frontline Update” provides some cool info on the progress of the show. Half of the scripts for season one are done, five episodes have been voice recorded, three episodes have been storyboarded, two episodes are being animated…and via Twitter, we know the animation for the first episode is now done…and the show has a theme already composed.
- “50 Greatest Reasons to Love the Star Wars Prequels” is a cool article showcasing Star Wars fans across the board, from Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actors to authors and actors all weighing in on why they love the prequels.
- Jedi News’ Mark Newbold has an interview with Gerald Home, the actor who portrayed Tessek and a Mon Calamari officer in Return of the Jedi. It covers Gerald’s first experience with Star Wars, his favorite scene, action figure and more.
- FANgirl Blog’s Tricia Barr has an interview with author Camille Paglia on her book Glittering Images: A Journey Through Art From Egypt to Star Wars. They talk about art, history and of course Star Wars.
- An interview with Milton Johns who played the Imperial officer Bewill in The Empire Strikes Back. Milton recounts how his one week of work turned into six.
- “Rogues Gallery” has a neat layout for all of the Neimoidians complete with names and mini-bios for each.
- One of my favorite interviews in this issue is with Kevin J. Anderson which is part of this month’s “Authors of the Expanded Universe” feature. Kevin talks about how he got started with writing, his gig with Star Wars and writing The Jedi Academy Trilogy. There’s even a list of title suggestions for his first Star Wars book.
- “McQuarrie Revisited” features a new painting by Paul Bateman. This one tackles some unused McQuarrie alien art for a new, outdoor cantina scene.
- Continuing the interviews, there’s one with Michael Carter who played Bib Fortuna. Michael talks about director Richard Marquand, secrecy, the extensive makeup for the role, and doing An American Werewolf in London.
- The new short fiction in this issue is called “Hammer” and written by Edward M. Erdelac, whose previous work in Star Wars includes “First of Iron”, a hyperspace exclusive short story. The piece includes illustrations by Joe Corroney and colorist Brian Miller. The story focuses on a disgruntled Jedi student named Telloti Cillmam’n who becomes victim to an ancient suit of Sith armor.
