Comic News

  • Amazon is set to acquire comiXology, a platform renowned for offering digital comics. It’s an interesting combination, as Amazon not only has  hardware for viewing digital products, but also an extensive online storefront. With comiXology in their arsenal, they can now offer graphic novels, trade paperbacks collections and digital comics. It’s be interesting to see if Amazon presses further into the marketplace by trying to put out their own comics.

Fandom News

  • FANgirl Blog has a nice reality check on recent Star Wars news announcements and a factor I hadn’t noticed: all the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim hosts and Star Wars authors for Star Wars Reads Day are all males. It doesn’t get much more one sided than that. And it’s not like they don’t have women to choose from, people like Ashley Eckstein, Martha Wells and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff, just to name a few.
  • Elsewhere on the web, actor Harrison Ford did a reddit “Ask Me Anything” Q&A, as did Ahmed Best.
  • Random House Audiobooks shared a funny clip of Marc Thompson doing a singing Ewok for the upcoming audiobook of The Jedi Doth Return.
  • Want to cosplay as Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels? Well Dave Filoni has you covered.
  • And speaking of Dave Filoni, WolfPack Podcast has an interview with Dave you can listen to here with lots of Star Wars: The Clone Wars questions.
  • Note: Dave’s publicist comes in near the end clarifying Star Wars Rebels will have a one hour premier on Disney channel and Disney XD.

Movie & Television News

  • Rebels Report spotted a tweet revealing a new Star Wars Rebels poster showcasing the Inquisitor.

  • Screen Crush has a picture of a Star Wars Episode VII prop which some people are comparing to an AT-AT foot.
